Another Tea Addicted Writer On The Loose!

One of my favorite days of the month is when My Thrill Club box arrives! What is it? It’s a book subscription box that provides you (now) with two hardcover books and an eBook! You can choose between three genres (Thriller, Mystery, & Horror), at the low cost of $9.99 plus shipping and handling. Now for those of us who have been subscribed to this company for a while, this is our first month where instead of the DVD we are getting the eBook. I have to admit, I am not disappointed with this concept. Sure I’ll miss the random horror movie to add to my collection, but I’m totally okay with another book being added into the mix…even if it is an eBook. So what did I get in My Thrill Club box this month?

Well first, I feel like I should disclaimer this is not a sponsored post. I am just a longtime (well, since last August) happy customer. I have tried a handful of subscription boxes and this is one of two that I have kept. It’s also the only one who has yet to actually disappoint me and make me feel like I didn’t get my money’s worth. Before we further talk the financial savings you actually can get from this book subscription let’s see what I actually received this month!

First up, the two hardcover books that arrived to my doorstep!

Secondly, the eBook I received via a special code through bookshout.com!

After reading the synopsis to all three books, I have to say I’m actually quite looking forward to reading each one. The hardest part (as always), is going to be deciding which one to read first.

Okay, now let’s take a moment to discuss the cost. I admit like a lot of people I do most of my online shopping at Amazon and thus, I am making cost references through them for each book on this list. Remember, the box only costs $9.99 plus shipping and handling – which for U.S. residents comes to $16.99.

In hardcover (as of the moment in research), these books cost…

Werewolf Cop by Andrew Klavan = $19.66
The Forbidden by F.R. Tallis = $18.50

Total for both books = $38.16

Now admittedly, I’m getting an unclear answer for the cost of the eBook. It seems there are a lot of free options for this book. Heck, it even looks like you might actually be able to read the eBook for free on the Book Shout website with or without the code received in this month’s box. Otherwise, I’ve seen it as low as $1.99.

No matter the eBook lack of cost though, the hardcovers alone are more than enough to make this month’s box more than worth the cost. If you haven’t done the math already, that’s a $21.17 savings (not including eBook costs obviously) by getting the books through My Thrill Club! So if you’re into Mystery, Thriller, or Horror genres for reading I would definitely highly recommend this subscription box service. Interested? Head over to MyThrillClub.com to sign up! By the way, if you like all three genres, they do have an option to be surprised every month with the genre you receive.

Now as I continue my subscription with My Thrill Club, I definitely plan to share more Unboxing posts each month. As I do, if you would like to read the synopsis of the books in post (verses having to look them up), let me know. I’ll be sure to include them next time. Do you like the idea of seeing the cost difference between buying the books on their own, versus the savings achieved each month in box? Let me know in the comments below!

Also let me know, if you are also a My Thrill Club subscriber and what genre you pick each month! I’m pretty solid with my Horror option. Do you have any other book subscription services? Let’s chat in the comments.

XOXO, Jane
