Jane Ridgewood

Another Tea Addicted Writer On The Loose!

This month might be the first one that I don’t make my goal for a NaNoWriMo challenge. I’m really not sure entirely how I feel about that. I think that comes partly in I really don’t want to lose hope on it just yet. I know we have like 4 more days, but stranger things have happened right? I’ve set a low goal for myself thinking it would be easy to achieve and over achieve. Instead, I have found more road blocks and obstacles this month than I ever thought possible. The bad news? I didn’t make my pre-set goal to be reached by this month. The good news? I am actually in a really good place with this draft of the novel. I’m really pleased with how it’s starting to shape up and the direction I’m taking it. So the big question, where is my current word count?

I am presently (as of this moment) sitting at 2,633 words out of 20,000.

It may take a writing miracle, but I am about to approach my weekend off. I have until the end of Monday and I think I may quiet down on any social media and the blog for the next few days so I can try and focus better with this draft and reaching my goal. I set this goal for myself because I knew I could do it and doing the math of what needs to be done in order to achieve my goal still; I think I can finish before time is up. Of course, I will be sharing a post next week Tuesday (May 01st) with the final word count total. Wish me luck!

How are you doing with your writing projects this month? If you’re participating in Camp NaNoWriMo have you reached your goal? Or are you close? Don’t lose hope if you’re in the same boat as I am. I still feel like it’s all very achievable.

XOXO, Jane
