Motivational Monday #05

Oh wow! It is already the last day of Camp NaNoWriMo for the month of April. I really can’t believe how quickly the past thirty days seem to have flown by. Of course I did have a lot of obstacles in my personal life during that time, so maybe that’s partially why it feels this way to me. Regardless of the speed of time though, I’m happy to say I have overcome all the struggles and achieved what I set out to do this month. There will be more about that in tomorrow’s post though. So be sure to check back! For now though, I’d like to take a moment to address those who’ve won and those who didn’t quite make their Camp goals.

To those of you who have successfully achieved your personal goal this month, I say congratulations to you for winning Camp NaNoWriMo! It’s always exciting and ego boosting when you validate your words, hours, lines, or what-have-you and that winners page pops up. You did it!! I knew you could do it! I’m so very proud of those of us who set our goals with the determination and motivation to push through to the end. Take this time to celebrate your victory. Enjoy the fact that you put a lot of hard work into your writing project this month and you succeeded.

Now to those of you who don’t get to achieve your goals by the end of today. I know this is going to sound completely cliché, but honestly if you at least tried – then in my book you won. The only real losers in this writing challenge are the writers who didn’t write. The ones who started with a blank page and kept it blank all throughout the month. These are the people who gave up before they even began. There was no effort. But you tried! You did your best to get your words, hours, lines, or what-have-you in for your work in progress. I’m proud of you for that! You should be proud of you for that as well.

I really hope all of you continue to write! Let me know how your month has gone and turned out in the comments below.

Also as a side note, this is the last Motivational Monday post until July! However, if you ever need a cheerleader on your WIP feel free to contact me anytime. I’m always happy to help encourage my fellow writers.

XOXO, Jane
