My Thrill Club May 2018

This post is a little overdue, given I actually received the May box for My Thrill Club back on the 4th. However if you follow me on twitter, around that time I made a note in a tweet about how I was waiting for a little error to be fixed. The error was the eBook code for Book Shouts that comes with every box now. Mine unfortunately did not work and thus, I e-mailed the company right away. Within hours I received a response that included a note that a new code would be sent out within the week. Unfortunately, it never arrived in my inbox and so last night I reached out again on the matter. Can I just say I’m always impressed at how fast I get responses? Seriously again, within hours of my e-mail there was their reply to me sitting in my inbox. This time around though they were super generous and gave me a bonus eBook code!

If you’re unfamiliar with My Thrill Club, their monthly box includes (now) two hardcover books and one eBook. Getting a bonus eBook is not the norm, but under the circumstances of this matter I find their gesture to be really generous. They could have easily just sent me the one code for the one eBook that came with this month’s box and I would have been thrilled. No pun intended. Instead though, they went the extra mile in kindness and gifted me an extra code. So without further ado, here we go with the actual unboxing for the Horror edition of this book subscription!

First step is naturally to open the box! Seems “The Ripper” was the one who packaged my box for this month. I didn’t actually start getting these inserts until a few months into my subscription. Now I seem to get one every month.

Okay this isn’t exactly a huge box with a bunch of extra goodies. It’s as simple as lifting the tissue paper and revealing your books. This month in hardcover I got Wraith by Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens, and The Motion of Puppets by Keith Donahue.

Instead of writing out the synopsis of each book, I’m simply going to link you to the listings on Amazon. Where you can not only read what the book is about, but purchase if it suits you. So for Wraith click HERE, and for The Motion of Puppets go HERE.

Now onto the eBooks!! I’m really not sure which title was the original with the Horror edition of My Thrill Club this month. The two codes I received got me The Chase by Paul Finch, and Terrifying Tales by Edgar Allan Poe.

Again I’m just going to give you the links to the Amazon listings for these eBooks. You can get The Chase for free (as of this moment at least) by clicking HERE. You can check out Terrifying Tales when you click HERE.

Overall I’m feeling pretty happy with the month’s selections. I think I’m most excited of the titles I received to read The Motion of Puppets. It just really grabbed my attention when I read the synopsis and I’m eagerly awaiting to dive into it. I’m also super stoked for the Edgar Allan Poe collection!

Last month I broke down the prices of each book compared to the cost of the box. I’m not going to do that this month as I think the company is adjusting their monthly costs again. Plus I’m not sure how much people really care. If you would like to see that in future unboxing posts though just let me know in the comments below. Also, if you would rather I include the synopsis of each title in post let me know that as well!

If you want to check out this book box for yourself, head over to their website – they have three different genres for you to choose from. Horror, Mystery, and Thriller!

XOXO, Jane
