Twenty Questions

Who is up for a game of twenty questions? Okay not the version that could get annoying real fast when played too often, but a book related one. I found this gem on by ‘buydebook’. Reading over the list of questions I felt this would be another fun tag to participate in and thus here we are. Ha! In a continued effort of opening up a little more to those of you who are so kind to visit my site here, without further ado I bring you my answers to the Twenty Questions Book Tag!

01. How many books is too many books in a book series?

Admittedly, I’m not a huge series reader. I do have a few that I love, but have yet to finish. Trilogies I feel I do better with, but when it comes to a series… hmmm maybe somewhere around 8 at most. Although all three of the series that I got into have more than that in them, I have yet to finish any of them.

02. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

Depends on how well they are written, but more importantly… my feels depend on how long it’ll be until I can read the conclusion.

03. Hardcopy or paperback?

I love a good hardback edition, but I really love a good paper one as well. So honestly I would have to say both.

04. Favorite book?

I don’t have just one! My favorite as a child is Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. Classic story and I have fond memories of my mom doing the voices as she read it to me. To this day I ask her to do the voices at random moments. Haha!

05. Least favorite book?

I could easily list a book that I haven’t read all the way through. However, I feel like I should give a book that I did finish. Hmmm… this is actually pretty tough. The first book that comes to mind is Tilly by Frank E Peretti. I read it at the beginning of this year and it was OK. I was left disappointed, but it was based off an old Christian radio program. I’m sure there is a book that I really, really didn’t like, but in this moment it’s not coming to me. I probably blocked it out of memory.

06. Love triangles, yes or no?

Personally I’m not one for the romance genre, so I can easily go without the love triangles. I mean if one is appropriate in the storyline and written well, I’m not entirely opposed. I just don’t really seek them out.

07. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

Hmmm…I finish most books that I start. I think maybe Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James. I don’t want to be disrespectful to the author or the many fans out there for this series. It just wasn’t my flavor at all. I think I picked it up to see what the hype was about and couldn’t even get to any of the “good” stuff before I had to just put it down.

08. A book you’re currently reading?

Presently I am reading Restitution by Kristen Martin. I’m almost done! I feel like I’ve been reading this one awhile, but I tend to read more than one book at a time these days. It’s the last book in the Alpha Drive trilogy though and I must say I have been enjoying this series a lot more than I initially thought I would.

09. Last book you recommended to someone?

Probably the last two books I completed and reviewed, Kind is the New Classy by Candace Cameron Bure and Be Your Own #Goals by Kristen Martin. I enjoyed both immensely. They were both eye openers for me.

10. Oldest book you’ve read? (Publication date)

Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu, it was originally published in 1871. Fun fact – this vampire fiction pre-dates Bram Stoker’s Dracula by at least 26 years.

11. Newest book you’ve read? (Publication date)

Be Your Own #Goals by Kristen Martin. This book was just released on May 01st of this year!

12. Favorite author?

I can’t pick one… I love so many of them!

13. Buying books or borrowing books?

Definitely buy! I’m a bibliophile with a growing collection.

14. A book you dislike that everyone else seem to love?

I’m going to have to resort to Twilight by Stephanie Meyer and Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James. Neither book I could finish for different reasons. Both were extremely popular and I know quite a few who still love both of these books to this day. I just didn’t find the enjoyment in these titles. So I had to not finish them.

15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?

Bookmarks. I never dog-ear my pages. I will find a scrap of tissue if I need to before I do that. Ha!

16. A book you can always reread?

Oh gosh, there are so many… I feel like there isn’t enough time to list all of the books I could re-read over and over again.

17. Can you read while hearing music?

I prefer not to have music on while I read, but if it were simply instrumental it would fine. Well as long as it wasn’t too loud. Otherwise it might be too distracting.

18. One POV or multiple POV’s? (POV’s = Point of views)

I really have found enjoyment in both. So honestly it would just depend on the kind of story. Also with various POV’s, it helps when it’s written well so you don’t get mixed up or lost along the way.

19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

It really depends on how much time I have to read, how long the book is, and so forth. I would have to say for the most part it’s over the course of multiple days.

20. Who do you tag?

Everyone who reads this! Ha!

That’s it for the twenty questions book tag! I hope you enjoyed my answers. If you do this tag please feel free to link me in the comments to the post on your blog, or if you want to just answer in the comments that’s fine too! If you have any suggestions for book or writing tags that you’d like to see me answer on here, just let me know down below.

XOXO, Jane
