Awkward Results

Happy Birthday to me! Heh! So I know this post is going live late today, but I wanted to give my ‘Birthday Giveaway’ a little extra time. Just in case someone slipped in last minute or even a minute late. Unfortunately, I received zero entries for the NaNoWriMo Halo giveaway. Now part of me does wonder if I just didn’t promote it well enough or give it enough time for people to come enter. I figured a little weekend giveaway would have been fun and easy, but lesson learned. So what am I going to do now?

For a brief moment I did consider extending this giveaway. Then I thought it would probably be best to just let it be closed and move on. What I will do is select someone randomly on the NaNoWriMo site and supply them with a halo anonymously. There is actually a thread going in the forums over there where people who may not necessarily be able to afford it otherwise can request to receive a halo if someone has a spare to give. So likely I will pluck from there.

I think the next time I do a NaNo themed giveaway; I will plan for it better and maybe include some more incentive for people to sign up.

Well I think I need to wrap this up, and while this is definitely one of my shorter posts – it is my birthday and I have an afternoon planned for writing, writing, and more writing!

XOXO, Jane

  1. Hi Jane…I saw your other post…I just was not sure what it meant and I am not doing the Nano-thingy either. But trying to support all those who are! It is quite an accomplishment to write so much!
Hope you have had a fabulous day!

    1. A halo is just something donators get. NaNoWriMo is a non-profit for writers that offers a lot. Not just one month every year where people come together. They have a young writers program and just more for writers. The halo appears on profile icons on the site once a donation in the user’s name has been made. It’s all good though. I know not many around here are a “Wrimo”. 🙂 And thank you so much! ❤
