This Isn’t Goodbye, It Can’t Be.

I wanted so badly to find only the most eloquent words to make this post. This is without a doubt the hardest thing I’ve ever had to share personally or publicly. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to face in life. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, then you may already know. It still hurts to say or even type out the words. It is with a heavy heart that I share with all of you that my beautiful, loving, wonderful, amazing mom passed away on September 4th.

Books I Couldn’t Finish

Are you the type of reader that once you start reading a book you must finish it? Or are you the type that can easily shut a book and walk away if it bores you? Typically, I am the reader who must finish it if I started it. Sometimes this means I spend a lot of time with one book, because it takes me forever to push myself to really read through the pages. I don’t know why I’ve always been like this. There’s really only been two books I found that I could make peace with closing and walking away from. Knowing I’d never return to these books.

Short Horror Story

Prior to a couple of rather big events that hit my personal life, I was making great progress on a beat sheet that I have going for a short horror story. I had recently read Jessica Brody’s Save The Cat Writes A Novel and felt rather inspired to try the method out. Not only did I start working on the beat sheet for my upcoming debut novel however, but I also thought it’d be interesting to see if I could make it work with a short story. I really feel I was making good progress incorporating the different beats appropriately. I wasn’t quite finished though when everything just sort of happened and I found myself in need of some healing.

Medical Issues

I had meant to make a post late Friday, which would have been the July unboxing for My Thrill Club. The boxes were out late and mine was scheduled to get to me on Friday, which is did arrive. I however ended up having some ongoing medical issues since the car accident (see: Roll Over Perspective) worsen while at my day job that morning. I am still suffering from a concussion and actually have to see a specialist this week. I am also going to be seeing another specialist in the future here due to the accident as well. So it kind of became impossible for me to get online and write up the post. I had other posts done, some pre-written ones I was just waiting to schedule out. I just wanted to slip in the unboxing, that I’ve now opted not to do at this point.
