Life Stuff & NaNoWriMo

I would first like to apologize for my sudden disappearance from the blogosphere, as well as my sparse postings on social media. My mom has had a lot of serious health issues over the past few months and honestly, last month when I found myself bringing her back to the hospital I just needed to unplug from most online things. I did my best to keep up with my word count for NaNoWriMo (though for quite a bit I had fallen quite behind schedule), but other than that I really was just not worried about focusing extra attention on social media. My focus has been mostly between family and work (both in the day job sense, as well as my writing).

Vini’s Story: Chapter One

So I do have some non-NaNo writing posts planned for this month as well, but I felt like today would be a good day to share the new first chapter of Vini’s Story! This is just the first rough draft. A lot of similarities to the original, but some changes have been made. For example, this chapter is longer sitting at 2,945 words. So you might want to grab a cup of tea (or your beverage of choice) and perhaps some snacks before you start reading this one! Please keep in mind this is a first draft, thus, no editing has been done of any kind to it yet. I just felt inspired to share this with all of you today. Any feedback is always appreciated! For those of you who don’t know, Vini’s Story is a fictional autobiography of how a young rocker survived adolescence. Complete with absent parents, personal struggles, controversies, and her imaginary dead sister. – With that, I am bringing you the first chapter of my current NaNoWriMo project!

Awkward Results

Happy Birthday to me! Heh! So I know this post is going live late today, but I wanted to give my ‘Birthday Giveaway’ a little extra time. Just in case someone slipped in last minute or even a minute late. Unfortunately, I received zero entries for the NaNoWriMo Halo giveaway. Now part of me does wonder if I just didn’t promote it well enough or give it enough time for people to come enter. I figured a little weekend giveaway would have been fun and easy, but lesson learned. So what am I going to do now?

Birthday Giveaway

Monday (November 12th) is my birthday and I have wanted to do a special little giveaway. It really wasn’t until NaNoWriMo started that the idea struck me of what I could give away. I want to purchase a Halo for a fellow participant! For those of you who don’t know, a Halo appears on donating participant’s profiles. There are various donation levels that help the nonprofit organization support other writers. By giving a $10.00 donation you not only get a pretty nice halo on your profile, but you also get to help cover the program’s costs for 5 writers. Please note this giveaway is NOT sponsored. This is my gift to one lucky winner! So if you are a participant and would like to have a halo on me, then please keep reading!
