Another Tea Addicted Writer On The Loose!

Well after reading just one book, I think it’s safe to say I can add another author to my favorites list. His name is Dathan Auerbach and his debut novel Penpal has me pretty sold on his style of writing. He also has me wishing I was a Reddit user, since that is where Penpal originated in the form of a short stories series that intertwined. His stories actually inspired short films and his audience grew well enough that he was able to turn it all into this beautifully disturbing debut. How I even discovered this book was a suggestion made by Amazon. It was actually for the eBook version, but after reading the synopsis I just knew I had to get a physical copy.

As I prepare to release the first four chapters (pre-editor) of Collected, I thought I should pop on here to discuss a couple behind the scene happenings. I do want to start off though by saying, this whole year has been a huge learning experience for me as a writer. Not only am I diving more into the realities of self-publishing and what I need to accomplish, I am finding better ways to make my writing time more efficient. I’m also learning a lot of the business end of things behind the scenes. When I launch my debut novel, I want to be able to do this in the best way I possibly can to make this a proper release. I also want to make sure all my ducks are in a row.

Oh Fall, how I love thee! This is without a doubt my favorite season. I love sweater weather, the change of leaves, hot coco, the holidays (especially Halloween), and everything else about this beautiful season. Today’s tag post is actually originated by one of my favorite Beauty Guru’s on YouTube. Jaclyn Hill originated The Fall Favorites Tag three years ago! To be honest, I’ve wanted to do this tag since I first watched the video, but never really had the platform to do it. Now that I have my site, I’m happily taking this tag on!

It’s October 01st and officially Preptober time. We have one month until NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) begins again! In case you haven’t heard of it before, NaNoWriMo occurs annually in the month of November. Writers from across the globe join in (for free) and participate in the challenge of writing out 50,000 words in 30 days. These words typically are towards your new novel. I have participated and won both in 2016 and 2017. This will be my third year participating and hopefully winning again. Preptober is for the more planner friendly people. Those who want to get a head start on their NaNoWriMo project. Typically this time can be used for creating characters, worlds, outlines, and so forth.

It is time for part two of my involvement in author Jessi Elliott’s blog tour! This tour surrounds the release of her second novel, Twisted Gift, which just came out on the 21st of this month. Today’s post is fun for me as it’s an interview with the author herself. Now in order to accomplish this, as one – we live in different countries, and two – she has a lot of interviews to do. The best option was for me to e-mail her my list of questions and she responded to each of them. So as you continue on to reading the actual interview, I would like to note that I am leaving her words as she wrote them.

Welcome to part one (of two) with my involvement in author Jessi Elliott’s blog tour! Today I bring forth a review of Elliott’s latest release, Twisted Gift. This is the sequel to her debut novel Twisted Fate. For the purpose of full disclosure I did receive a free e-ARC (advance readers copy in eBook form) in early August. This was part sealing my fate with being a part of this tour, as well as in exchange for my honest opinion. In no way shape of form does the fact that I’m involved with this tour or received the e-ARC alter my own thoughts in response to the novel I read. The review is 100% my own opinion, just as all my reviews are. With that, I do forewarn that if you haven’t read Twisted Fate yet – you may bump into a spoiler or two.

As things continue to shape up behind the scenes with my debut novel, I am so happy to come to this point where I feel it’s definitely appropriate to share the actual title of it. From this point on I won’t have to refer to this novel as the Untitled Horror Project. I’ll be able to use its proper name. Since the moment that I finally came up with my title, I’ve seriously wanted to just shout it from the roof tops. There was this strange desire to rush around and tell everyone I ran into. However, my gut told me the timing wasn’t quite right. So outside of very few people in my life, I held it in and continued to refer to this book as the Untitled Horror Project. Now here I am finally ready for the reveal!

Going forward with these unboxing posts, I first feel I must ask – do you want me to include the eBook(s) given out in the member newsletter, or just stick with what physically comes in the box each month? I ask this, because last month part of my flaking out on doing an unboxing post for My Thrill Club was in part that we never received our newsletter. Well it turns out a new deal had to be made with Book Shout and as of the 4th of this month we got an e-mail with codes for each category (horror, thriller, mystery). I’m not really sure if those were for last month or this current, but either way it has me wondering if I should even focus on the eBook sharing on here at all. The boxes themselves usually come very early in the month, but the newsletters have come much later. What would you like to see? Let me know in the comments below! For this post, I shall include what was in that e-mail on the 4th for horror. So let’s get on with this month’s unboxing!

I feel like if I was a YouTuber this would end up being a ‘Get Ready With Me (GRWM) + Chit Chat’ type of video. I would be sitting at my desk with a mirror and makeup, putting on my face for the day as I discuss life happenings. At the moment however, I am not a YouTuber and thus you all get a blog post. Not of me doing my makeup or explaining my morning routine. Instead, we are going to skip all that fun stuff and jump to the ‘chit chat’ portion of the video – err, post.

The lovely Britchy has updated her previous tag with the twist of using Bands/Groups. I immediately knew of a certain British girl group that I had to do this with. I’ve been a fan since they hit the States with their smash hit Wannabe. Say what you will of them, but their music got me through a lot in darker days. In case you missed my previous post, basically you answer the questions below with only a song title from the band/group you selected to use. Again, I may do this again with a different act in the future. These are definitely good for a laugh.
